The Flying Fruit Fly Circus will make a spinning, tumbling and acrobatic return to Sydney Festival with the world premiere of their brand new show, The Promise at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre.

Always a favourite with kids and adult alike, the marvellous Fruities is expected to astonish audiences with their circus skills.

The Promise showcases the incredible talents of those magical kids from Australia’s only full-time circus training institution for children. The performance is touted as powerful visual theatre, incorporating a range of puppetry styles with the Fruities’ extraordinary physical skills.

The Promise tells the story about a boy called Felix, whose father promises they will never be parted. But when everything changes and the promise is seemingly broken, Felix turns to his most beloved possessions – a story book and his toy circus elephant – to help him through.

Throughout the next year, Felix goes on a fantastical journey filled with amazing adventures and escapades. Through tempests, sinking ships, confronting bandits and flashing swords, to the bright lights and circus sawdust of the great Big Tops of the world, our hero and his loyal elephant friend encounter mystery, mayhem and magic as their travels take them through jungles, to temples and tents, overboard a ship, onto trains…and beyond!

The Promise is suitable for children age 6+. The season for The Promise is January 28–31 at the Riverside Theatre.
