The Parramatta Riverside Theatre has launched its 2009 program - and it has a distinctly Australian flavour.

Theatre director Robert announced the program, describing it as a diverse performance season of drama, satire and dance, that explores what it is to be Australian.

This season begins with "Travelling North", a love story of an aging couple moving north during the 1970s.

Also renouned actor John Wood will return to the Riverside stage to play the wild imaginings of old timer Monk O’Neill in HIT Productions’ A Stretch of the Imagination.

The Indigenous culture will also be explored through Bangarra Dance Theatre’s "True Stories" and the Sydney premiere of "Rainbow’s End", the story of three generations of a Koori family in a 1950’s country town. For more information visit www.riversideparramatta.com.au
