Christmas in July Variety Lunch for Special Olympics Australia

On Thursday 19 July, Sydneysiders will have the chance to help bring Christmas early to children and adults with intellectual disabilities at the Christmas in July Variety Lunch for Special Olympics Australia at WatervieW in Bicentennial Park at Sydney Olympic Park.

Guests of the event at WatervieW will enjoy all the usual Christmas trimmings including a sumptuous three course hot meal, drinks, bon-bons, Christmas decorations and a fundraising raffle.

The magic of Christmas will also be enhanced by live entertainment from the multi-talented singer, actress and TV personality Maria Venuti who is well-known for her outstanding charity work. The man himself, Santa Clause (comedian, radio host and sport commentator, Andy Pascalidis) will also make an appearance on the day.

The inaugural event is designed to raise much needed funds for the Special Olympics charity which has been in operation for 40 years and continues to provide sporting opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in 170 countries around the world. In Australia, Special Olympics currently has more than 250 sporting clubs providing activities for approx. 4000 athletes.
