Mummy's Netball Leagues Move Indoors
Following 2 years of braving the elements on Wednesday mornings - the 60+ women who participate with their pre-school aged children are both relieved and excited to play on the brand new surface in all weather conditions!
"Sadly, the past 12 months have been incredibly wet – and we have had to cancel games due to wet and windy weather. Because we look after pre-school aged children while their mum's are playing, it means that we also have to cancel matches if the grass is too wet for our tent to provide adequate protection" says Kelly West, the founder and General Manager of Balls & Giggles netball.
"Moving indoors is SO EXCITING for us. We can guarantee that games will happen every week no matter the weather - and having basic provisions such as toilets and drinking fountains is truly palatial.”
“Balls & Giggles was created to provide a professional service to women in the area - and finally we will be able to realise that dream. The cafe means mum's can get together after their games to talk tactics. We can't wait and we are genuinely grateful that Waverly Council has supported adult participation in sport by approving our booking!”
While the club is enjoying a great level of participation - they are keen to attract new members. They are also opening an evening league at the same indoor venue on Tuesday’s.
The new leagues commence on 17th and 18th July.
