Mark Thompson TWILIGHT OF THE IDOLS
Mark Thompson’s exhibition Twilight of the Idols is showing at the Robin Gibson Gallery from Saturday. 26 May to Wednesday, 29 May.
“We are the sum of all our experiences, good, bad and stupid, this sets us apart and must be examined and acted upon. The same must happen in the act of picture making. The object should be to prompt the viewer to examine and question in the light of their knowledge, the sum of their experience and understanding.The making of a painting is the sum of many parts. Ideas and images are collected, sorted and stored… Everything is grist for the mill, nothing is sacred, off limits, or restricted, everything is open to re-interpretation and appropriation,” said Artist, Mark Thompson.
