Inaugural Better Business Awards Event

Tickets are on sale for the inaugural Better Business Awards – a celebration and showcase of the 300 plus North Shore businesses that are a part of the Better Business Partnership.

The Awards, to be held on World Environment Day, Tuesday 5 June at The Civic Pavilion on The Concourse, Chatswood will recognise the achievements of local businesses working to improve their sustainability.

Comedian, Wendy Harmer will MC the event, which will include sustainably sourced canapés on arrival and sit-down two-course dinner, entertainment from band ‘Uncle Jed’, along with the awards presentation.

Influential environmentalist, co-founder of Planet Ark and founder of Do Something! Jon Dee will deliver a special keynote speech.

Awards will be given out across nine categories, determined by an independent panel of judges, following an auditing and short listing process:

*Better Business Accessibility Award *Better Business Sustainable Purchasing Award *Better Business Community Support Award *Better Business Sustainable Transport Award *Better Business Staff Support Award *Better Business Waste Award *Better Business Water Award *Better Business Energy Award *Better Business of the Year Award

There will also be three publicly voted People’s Choice Awards:

*Better Business People’s Choice Award – Retail *Better Business People’s Choice Award – Hospitality, Cafes and Restaurants *Better Business People’s Choice Award – Professional Services and Other
