As part of Library and Information Week 2012, Willoughby City Library will host National Simultaneous Storytime at 11am, Wednesday 23 May, at Chatswood Library on The Concourse, Chatswood. This event will be held during the library’s regular Storytime session from 10.30am – 11.15am.

Now in its 12th year, National Simultaneous Storytime promotes reading and literacy to children using a picture book that explores age appropriate themes and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Grades 1 to 6. In 2011, more than 170,000 children across Australia took part in National Simultaneous Storytime.

Zebra had fantastic stripes and Sheep . . . well, Sheep was plain. When four friends encounter a cranky bear, Moose, Lion and Zebra all think they know how to cheer him up. But it is plain, boring Sheep who has the answer…’
