The opening games of the Australian Chinese Basketball Association (ACBA) International tournament have been played and won, in front of healthy crowds at the Auburn Basketball Stadium.

The ACBA Dragons and ACBA Tigers opened the tournament on 22nd October with wins over the Sutherland Sharks and Parramatta Wildcats teams respectively.

Both games were high-scoring affairs, with the Dragons winning 107-98 and the Tigers winning 110-105. Matt Crowe (26 points), Goran Veg (23) and Bilal Chaker (19) were the high scorers for the Dragons, whilst Luke Davies (25) was the best for the Sharks. Jed Atherton had a night to remember for the Tigers, finishing with stats of 35 points, 28 boards, 7 assists, 4 steals and 1 blocked shot.

The Wildcats backed up that win by defeating Tianjin Polytech University (score not to hand) and the Sydney Kings Youth team had a runaway win over Beijing University (score not to hand). Full details of those two games will be posted on the Streetcorner website at a later date.
