Come along to the 'Can't eat your house - Development Threatens Food Bowl' Panel and Question and Answer session on the Wednesday 26 of October at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, 597 High Street, Penrith. The event is at 7pm (for a 7.30pm start).

Urban sprawl in Sydney's West is encroaching on fertile floodplains. How do we retain our food security at a time of rapid economic growth? Costa Georgiadis is MC of this event as part of Crave Sydney International Food Festival.

Panellists include; Ian Sinclair, a planner with a focus on food and agriculture, Professor Phillip O’Neill of the Urban Research Centre and Councillor Alison McLaren, president of the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC), president of the NSW Farmers Assoc, Costa Georgiadis.

It's a quaint old-fashioned idea, but Governments should be making policies, democratically, for our benefit, on our behalf. Unfortunately, the pro-growth lobby of builders, developers, planners and bankers are holding our governments captive for their own vested interests. We need to return to democracy. Our population growth rate is excessive - driven by immigration. We need to replace political-correctness with some common sense.
