Eva Rinaldi chats with ABC Fiona Wyllie about the World Bodypainting Festival
Usually, the artist paints a completely naked human body, or sometimes covered with a very short bikini or a g-string. A great bodypainting work is measured by how skillfully the artist hides the private parts of the subject.
The World Bodypainting Festival is an annual festival. From 1998 to 2010 the Festival was held in Seeboden, Carinthia, Austria, near the Millstatter See, on the third week of July every year. This year's World Bodypainting Festival took place in Poertschach at lake Woerthersee in Austria's southern Carinthia province from July 1 to 3
The human body as artist’s pallete is usually completely naked, save for a very brief bikini or even a g-string and the measure of a great bodypainting job is how effectively the artist hides the breasts on the woman subject! Seriously – sometimes the artist can apply the paint so skillfully that you cannot easily see one’s private parts…
Such was the case for a myriad of wonderful bodypaint artists who competed or rather displayed their work at the final day at the World Bodypainting Festival 2011 on 3 July 2011 in Poertschach, Austria.
