The following information has been supplied by the RTA (Transport Management Centre)
" The Pacific Highway will be closed in both directions at Shark Creek at 1pm for aprox 90 minutes to allow 500+ head of cattle to be moved from a low lying area in Shark Creek to Tyndale - a distance of 5km. During this time motorists in both directions will be diverted via Summerland Way. This diversion will add an extra 1 hour to your travel time.
Police will be conducting this operation with RTA operating diversion points.
Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and expect delays.
Other flood affected state roads in NSW:
The New England Highway is closed in both directions between Tenterfield and the Queensland border. This is due to flooding in Queensland.
The Bruxner Highway is closed in both directions between Tenterfield and Casino.
The Gwydir Highway is closed in both directions between Grafton and Glen Innes.
Motorists who are travelling north on the New England Highway are advised to use the Pacific Highway by using either Waterfall Way at Bellingen or the Oxley Highway from Bendemeer rejoining the Pacific Highway at Wauchope. The Oxley Highway diversion is not suitable for B doubles.
