Nominate an amazing woman for NSW Woman of the Year, nomindations deadline extended

Minister for Women Jodi McKay today the community to take advantage of the extended deadline and get their nominations in for the 2011 NSW Woman of the Year.
“I encourage residents who know a woman in NSW who has contributed to their community to nominate them,” Ms McKay said.
Ms McKay said each year the NSW Government awards a NSW Woman of the Year as part of International Women’s Day celebrations in March.
Ms McKay said NSW has incredibly impressive women who are making a difference in their communities.
“The NSW Woman of the Year Award acknowledges the outstanding contributions of women throughout NSW and the dedication they have for their communities.
“It recognises women who have motivated other women, made a difference for women and girls in NSW, and demonstrated excellence in their field.
Ms McKay said momentum is building for the centenary event with increasing interest and support from the community.
“We’ve had a huge response to our International Women’s Day poster design competition, and I certainly look forward to the winning entry being distributed in the New Year to help promote the day,” Ms McKay said.
The winner of the 2011 Woman of the Year Award will be announced at the Premier’s Reception for International Women’s Day at Parliament House on the 8th March 2011 - International Women’s Day. The winner will be presented with her award at this ceremony.
