This production is an exploration of what makes us civilised. We're familiar with the pictures and news clips of "child soldiers" and "street gangs" around the world and their capacity for brutality and violence as societies struggle with questions of personal freedom and the need for intervention to prevent a descent into chaos. This throws up questions:

ARE WE ANIMALS AT HEART? Is it nurture, or the rule of law, that civilises us? Because this story touches nerves on all these sensitive areas and because it raises a primal fear about our own human nature, thias production is both topical and confronting.

LORD OF THE FLIES explores what happens to a group of young people who are forced into a new world where they have to create their own society, structures, norms, standards and laws and how this leads to unexpected and disturbing experiences.

Are you sitting comfortably? Take a deep breath and watch as a group of dynamic young people wrestle to make sense of their own ethics and human nature…
