Wollondilly Shire Council is holding a Cfree omposting and Worm Farming Workshop on the 23 August 2010 between 1pm and 3pm at the Wollondilly Community Nursery, Wonga Road, Picton.

Composting and worm farming is a natural way to recycle green waste such as weeds, grass clippings and leaves and also kitchen waste such as fruit and vegetable scraps.

More than 60% of waste that goes into landfill is comprised of green waste which is a valuable resource that is not being used.

A good compost or worm farm is the backbone of a healthy vegetable garden providing natural organic nutrients to feed plants and helping to maintain soil health through supporting worms and other beneficial soil organisms.

This free workshop will investigate different composting and worm farming methods and systems as well as the types of ingredients that can and can't go into them.

The health and vigour of any plant is only as good as the soil it grows in.

To register for this workshop please contact Damion 46772723 OR nusery@wollondilly.nsw.gov.au
