Western Sydney police are still investigating a car theft in Fairfield yesterday in which a Toyota Corolla was taken with a sleeping 3 year-old in the back seat. Luckily, a quick thinking witness chased the Corolla in his own car until the man stopped his car and ran from the scene.

The little girl’s father, a 26-year-old Mt Pritchard man had parked his red Toyota Corolla outside the corner store at the intersection of Tangerine and Hercules Streets, Fairfield, about 6.15pm yesterday and ran inside to make some purchases, leaving his three-year-old daughter asleep on the back seat. Police are continuing their inquiries in a bid to identify and locate the offender. Anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Tangerine and Hercules Streets at Fairfield or Landon Street at Fairfield East is urged to contact Fairfield Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
