International students lose money learning to fly
Learn to fly here sign
The ABC ran a story exposing the flight schools 6 months ago and students were not getting flying hours as promised in their courses.
Despite Government assurance to International students and overseas Governments that Australia has well regulated education system, the latest collapse will not get back the average $30,000 that students lost to Bankstown flying school. Indians and Malaysian students paid over $50,000 to flying courses at Sydney Flight Training Centre and Aerospace Aviation. One of the managing directors of those schools Barry Diamond has started trading under a new name, Australian Aviation Training College after being granted a licence by Civil Aviation Safety Authority. The federal government was investigation the two companies prior to their collapse with debts of around $10million.
The students have mostly given up and returned home with no hope of receiving any of the average $30,000 each they are owed nor any assurances from the new school Australian Aviation Training College giving them a credit to complete their training.
There is no word on their website about being closed for business. http://www.sydneyflighttraining.com.au / http://www.aerospaceaviation.com/
