A Sydney mother says she was turned away from Campbelltown hospital, even though she had obvious signs of a miscarriage.

Two weeks ago Rose Taylor delivered a 14-week foetus in the bathroom of her St Helens Park home, with only paracetamol to curb the pain.

She says it was a fully formed child, with ears, eyes and fingers.

The 26-year-old claims staff at Campbelltown hospital turned her away – twice – despite her symptoms.

Health bosses say women experiencing miscarriage aren't routinely admitted, and Mrs Taylor agreed to go home.

The Health Department still hasn't released promised treatment protocols for women who miscarriage before the half-way mark.
